This geometric bench is made out of a single walnut slab joined to two angled spalted birch legs. The birch was stored as trunk sections, which caused the spalting to fully penetrate the legs and expose this beautiful structure on all sides. The legs are joined using sliding tapered dovetails to ensure maximal stability and this visual detail is repeated in the brass bow ties that stabilize the walnut slab.
